THANKS FOR THE CHICKEN NOODLE DINNER… NOW, TIME FOR MISSION
Dear Friends,
The 76th Annual Chicken Noodle Dinner was terrific. Leadership (Rob Scott) got the community moving, and we rallied in sup-port, with 50 noodle makers, plenty who came to cook and debone the meat, dessert cutters, cookers, servers, runners, cashiers, order-takers… it took all who helped, whether from the church, family and friends, to make it run smoothly. Not sure how many helped on Saturday? Maybe 75? And the volunteer from the longest distance? Munich, Germany. And from USA, Minnesota, Arizona, and Texas.
Serving the dinner ran smoothly! We cut down waiting times drastically from last year. Final numbers are not in, but looks like proceeds roughly the same or a bit better than last year.
The Chicken Noodle Dinner is important for sustaining the church. It creates camaraderie—even though the work can be exhausting. And it has a bigger purpose: enabling us to carry out our mission – to teach and share the love of Christ with others. Now it is time to move forward on the mission. Time is our most precious commodity. Let’s get moving.
But first, take time to worship. Make time to pray and delve into the teachings. Save time for serving. This is a recipe for cultivating a deeper faith and stronger bond with the Lord and being a beloved community.
Sincerely,
Pastor Donna Goltry
